World Physical Therapy Day 2021 Celebrations at IPM&R


It is the role of physical therapists to make the lives of their patients worth living. World physical therapy day this year, was celebrated with the theme of LONG COVID AND REHABILITATION. This day marks the unity and solidarity of the global physiotherapy community and is celebrated as an opportunity to recognize the work that physiotherapists do for their patients and community. It was celebrated as a tribute to physical therapists who worked day and night during the times of this pandemic and helped patients recover. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Mushtaq Ghani, Speaker Provincial Assembly KP.

The day started with plantation by the chief guest followed by model competition between the affiliated institutes of KMU. It continued to speeches by the guests and HOD Dr. Irfan Ullah PT where he discussed future plans of the university, house jobs for our graduates and PhD plan for physical therapists of KP. Video messages of the head and faculty of IPMR KMU were played for creating awareness among community regarding physical therapy and its role in Covid and rehabilitation. Videos of renowned sports players regarding benefits of physical therapy and how it has helped them to return to sports, were also recorded and played at the event. The day ended with cake cutting ceremony, certificates and shields distribution among the participants, organizers and head of all the institutes and shields for the winners of model competition where School of Health Sciences got 1st prize, IPMR got 2nd prize and Institute of Health Sciences Peshawar got 3rd prize.
