Dr. Irfanullah (PT), is appointed Director/Principal at Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Khyber Medical University, Peshawar on November 19, 2020.
He has 13 years of clinical and academic experience in both public and private sectors. Clinically, he has extensive expertise in the management of persons with disabilities including patients with spinal cord problems, limb amputations, poliomyelitis and stroke. He worked in well-known organisations working on the rehabilitation of person with disabilities. He was actively involved in teaching to undergraduate students of physical therapy. Before joining KMU, he worked as a Physical Therapist at Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar for 5 years. His research areas of interest are spinal cord injury, pressure ulcer and amputation. He published research work in both national and international journals.
Dr Irfan plan to introduce new programs both at undergraduate post-graduate levels. He is planning to introduce sport sciences, podiatry and respiratory therapy at undergraduate level while at post-graduate level, he is planning to introduce MS Occupational Therapy, MS Speech and Language Pathology, MS Prosthetic and Orthotics Sciences, new track in MS physical therapy and PhD in Physical Therapy.
